What is the cause of poor filter seal?

2024-07-03

There are many reasons for poor filter sealing, mainly related to design, installation, operation and maintenance. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Design issues of the filter

(1) Unreasonable structural design: If the design of the filter does not take into account the actual working environment, it may lead to instability of the sealing structure, thus affecting the tightness.

(2) Improper material selection: the sealing material selected during the design may not be able to adapt to chemical corrosion or temperature changes in the working environment, resulting in material degradation and affecting the sealing effect.

(3) The filtration accuracy does not match the structure: the selection of filtration accuracy does not meet the actual requirements, which may cause the surface load of the filter material to be too large, affecting the integrity of the sealing structure.

2. The installation is faulty

(1) Improper installation: During the installation process, if the operation is not standardized or the tool is not used properly, the seal may be damaged, resulting in leakage.

(2) Incomplete cleaning: Before installation, if the cleaning work of the filter or its installation environment is not done, there may be particle impurities on the sealing surface, affecting the sealing effect.

(3) Insufficient leak detection: no effective leak detection test is carried out after installation, which may lead to hidden sealing problems not being discovered and solved in time.

3. Operation problems of the filter

(1) Improper air intake control: in the early stage of pressure construction, if the air intake is too large, it will form a vortex airflow, drive the internal dirt into the seal gap, and destroy the seal structure.

(2) The operation process is not standardized: if the operator does not strictly follow the operating procedures, it may lead to sealing problems due to operational errors.

4. Maintenance issues of the filter

(1) The maintenance period is unreasonable: if the maintenance period of the filter is too long or too short, it may affect its sealing performance. Too long may lead to aging seals, too short may cause unnecessary wear.

(2) Improper maintenance tools or methods: The use of improper maintenance tools or methods may lead to seal damage, affecting the tightness of the filter.

5. Detection and repair are not timely

(1) Leak detection is not timely: if the filter leak detection is not carried out regularly, it may lead to small sealing problems gradually expanding, and eventually affect the overall sealing.

(2) Repair is not in place: even if a leak is detected, if it is not repaired in a timely or correct manner, it will make the sealing problem persist.
